Founded in May 1950, it is one of the first 15 institutes established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Under this orientation, Shanghai organic Research Institute strives to achieve major breakthroughs in three aspects, namely, the key science, technology and application of the preparation of high-performance polyolefin materials; Integrated research and application of strain transformation and micro ecosystem construction guided by chemical concept; Key science, technology and application of high-performance organic fluorine materials. Shanghai Institute of organic sciences has two state key laboratories and four Academy key laboratories, which are respectively: State Key Laboratory of life organic chemistry, State Key Laboratory of metal organic chemistry, Key Laboratory of organic fluorine chemistry of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Key Laboratory of organic synthesis chemistry of natural products of Chinese Academy of Sciences Key Laboratory of synthesis and assembly chemistry of organic functional molecules, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Key Laboratory of energy regulatory materials, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
